NEW FOR 2008

Due to popular demand, The HERTS 10K team are excited to announce that they will be allowing FAST WALKERS to take part in this year's event, with walkers setting off after the runners have begun. So now whether you're a runner or a walker, more of you can look to take part in what is currently the fastest growing regional 10K event in the country!
Race preparations are currently underway, with organisers and promoters of the race ensuring that this year's HERTS 10K CHALLENGE is BIGGER and BETTER than 2007. The team are aiming for 3,000 plus entries and are hoping to raise £150,000 in sponsorship monies for Grove House.
This year the race will take place on Sunday October 12th 2008 starting at 10am at Rothamsted Research, so please look out for further details on all race information coming soon, plus more fantastic sponsorship prizes to be announced from our Sponsors!
The HERTS 10K CHALLENGE 2007 - One incredible Day!
Levy Associates and Grove House are excited to announce that The HERTS 10K CHALLENGE 2007 did the TRIPLE. Not only did the event double its entries finishing on an incredible 2,043 runners in just the second year, but it also smashed the target of £100,000, raising an amazing £128,000. This fantastic result is all down to the many runners who worked so hard to collect their sponsorship monies.
The HERTS 10K CHALLENGE was listed at No.36 in February’s 08 issue of Runners World Magazine - (the official voice of running in the UK) in their overview of ‘The 50 Best British Races of 2007’, a brilliant achievement for such a newly established and growing race.
The HERTS 10K CHALLENGE has become the flagship fundraising event for Grove House and the £128,000 is the largest amount of monies ever raised from one single event for the charity.
Paul Parrish, Fundraising Director at Grove House said: "The money raised from this wonderful event is crucial in helping Grove House maintain its current excellent range of services. It has also given us the confidence to launch a new service, 24 hour Hospice at Home, a first for the people of St Albans. Thanks to the HERTS 10K and the support of Lawrence Levy, Managing Director of Levy Associates, his staff, Fast Talk Promotions, plus all the many volunteers and runners, the planned expansion of Grove House services for terminally ill people in St Albans has now become a reality."
