All proceeds from the HERTS 10K go to support the work of Grove House.
Grove House (part of Rennie Grove Hospice Care) provides care and support to patients with life-limiting illness throughout the Chilterns area of Buckinghamshire and the St Albans, Harpenden and Dacorum districts of Hertfordshire.
The hospice charity's services are tailored to the individual's needs: whether supporting patients through treatment to full recovery - or ensuring a patient can receive the best possible end of life care in the place of their choice.
Grove House will support more than 2,000 patients and their families each year.
The charity needs to raise more than £6 million every year to meet the increased demand for its services – all of which continue to be offered to patients and their families completely free of charge.
How your sponsorship can make a difference
£17 will fund an hour of spiritual care. Our Spiritual Care Lead can talk through spiritual issues with people of all faiths, cultures and traditions.
£37 will fund an hour’s session with our play therapist. Individual counselling is organised for children to help cope with distress or grief.
£67 will fund an hour of all nursing care in our Day Hospice. The Robert Runcie Day Hospice provides a multi-professional team to support 16 patients per day, each receiving an individual programme of care to meet their particular needs.
£109 will fund a day of Cancer i, our confidential information and support service provides advice on a drop-in basis, to help patients, families and carers get the right information at each stage of illness.
